Montgomery, AL – Roy Moore is taking his batter over religion in government to a national stage. Alabama's now-suspended chief justice said yesterday he is offering his Ten Commandments monument to Congress for display in the U-S Capitol.
The offer comes nearly three weeks after the 53-hundred-pound monument was removed from the state judicial building to comply with a federal judge's order. Moore was suspended for refusing to follow the order, but the eight associate justices overruled him and had it wheeled out of the building's rotunda. Moore says putting the monument in the Capitol would -- quote -- "restore the balance of power between the branches of government."
