Washington, DC – Alabama's Republican U-S Senators are giving President Bush's State of the Union address rave reviews. Senator Richard Shelby says the president has established his priorities, and the economy will be a key factor. Senator Jeff Sessions credits the president's successful tax cut program for reviving the nation's economic health. He says Alabamians are already reaping the benefits through increased tax revenues. But Democrats are focusing on a different aspect of the economy, one that President Bush did not include in his speech last night. Democratic Congressman Artur Davis says the tax changes have done little to ease the tax burden on most workers. Alabama Democratic Party Chairman Redding Pitt holds the Bush administration accountable for an increase in job losses.
