Washington, DC – The US Supreme could consider an appeal by Thomas Blanton, who was convicted and imprisoned on charges related to a 1963 church bombing that killed four young girls dead.
The Alabama Supreme Court has already refused to hear the case, and Blanton's attorneys say they are currently working on an appeal petition for the highest court. They hope to challenge an incriminating set of tape recordings made by the F-B-I.
Blanton is now serving a life sentence. He was one of three former Ku Klux Klansmen convicted in the 1963 bombing of Birmingham's Sixteenth Street Baptist Church.
