Montgomery, AL – Christian talk show host Kelly McGinley is suing the Alabama Republican Party. She says she was illegally disqualified from the GOP ballot for a state school board seat. The party disqualified McGinley after a complaint that she supported the Constitution Party and had criticized the president. Her attorney filed the lawsuit in Montgomery circuit court Monday. Johnny Davis said in a statement the lawsuit seeks an emergency order to return McGinley to the ballot for the June first Republican Primary. The lawsuit says McGinley met every qualification and the Republican party violated its bylaws when it disqualified her from the race. Incumbent Orange Beach businessman Randy McKinney is currently unopposed in the GOP primary for the state school board seat. No Democrat qualified to run for the seat in the November general election.
