Montgomery, AL – Most of Alabama's registered voters are not expected to take the time to visit the polls for Tuesday's primary election. Secretary of State Nancy Worley says she expects as few at 20 percent of voters will cast a ballot. The state will spend about three million dollars on the effort. Polls will be open until seven tonight. Alabamians will cast votes for the presidential nomination, even though President Bush and Senator John Kerry have essentially wrapped up those nominations. But the state's three Supreme Court races have generated considerable interest, perhaps because of who is not campaigning. Political experts are monitoring the Republican primary to see if former Chief Justice Roy Moore has any influence. All three Supreme Court races feature a candidate he supports.
