Madison County, AL – Madison County Commissioner Mo Brooks says he's looking at running for lieutenant governor as a Republican in 2006. Brooks was an outspoken opponent of Governor Riley's tax plan last year. He says he became interested in running for lieutenant governor because it was hard to get statewide officials to speak out against the plan. Brooks served in the Alabama House of Representatives from 1982 through 1991. He then spent two years as Madison County district attorney. He was elected to the Madison County Commission in 1996.
