Voter Turnout Appears Heavy

By Alabama Public Radio

Undated – Reports from precincts across the state suggest Alabama's voters are casting ballots in large numbers today. Some polling places had long lines as early as when the polls opened at seven o'clock this morning. A few problems have been reported, as well. Butler County Probate Judge Steve Norman says power outages were inconvenient but but did not interrupt the process. A polling volunteer in Atmore says some people had to cast provisional ballots because they were left off of voter rosters or were placed on the wrong list. Alabama's polls will close tonight at seven.
