Montgomery, AL – The Alabama Education Association says its wants 75 million dollars worth of unspent money used for education. When legislators return to Montgomery for the regular session in February, they'll have to decide what to do with the leftovers. The money was originally supposed to go to the education budget. The state received 150 million dollars in federal money a couple of years ago to compensate for losses under the president's tax cut. Legislators agreed to split the money between the general fund budget and education. But some legislators now say the General Fund needs the money.
