Winn-Dixie Taps New Leader

By Alabama Public Radio

Jacksonville, FL – A well-known grocery store chain in the state has a new president and chief financial officer. Winn-Dixie announced that former Albertsons executive Peter Lynch will take the helm. He'll replace former President and C-E-O Frank Lazaran, who was recently fired. Winn-Dixie has more than one-thousand stores in 12 states, including Alabama. The grocery chain has been struggling to stay competitive with other chains and is in the midst of cutting ten-thousand jobs. Winn-Dixie also plans to close or sell 156 stores and several distribution centers.
