Undated, AL – It will be cold Monday night. There is a freeze warning for the southern third of the state. Lows are now forecast for the upper teens in the Tennessee Valley to the low 30s in the south. Safety workers say residents should make sure their water pipes don't freeze, and they recommend bringing pets indoors in extremely cold temperatures. Health officials also encourage residents to check in on the sick or elderly during times of cold weather. It won't be much warmer Tuesday with highs ranging in the mid 40s in north Alabama to the low 50s in the south. Weather forecasters say temperatures should get warmer by the end of the week.
