Mixed Weather Enters the State

By Alabama Public Radio

Undated, AL – The weather could get a bit complicated today. There's a near 100 percent chance of rain, and a developing weather system is expected to move northward from coastal Alabama through the rest of the state today. A flood watch and a winter storm watch will be in effect for north Alabama through Thursday morning. Weather forecasters say heavy rains are possible, and that could cause flooding or flash flooding. Much colder air also will enter the state, and it may cause sleet or freezing rain later tonight. Some minor ice or snow accumulation is possible in north Alabama. Meanwhile, there will be a winter weather advisory for portions of central Alabama late tonight through eight o'clock Thursday morning.
