Montgomery, AL – State Health Officer Don Williamson says more flu vaccines are available. And, he says the state is expanding its list of so-called "high-risk" individuals who are eligible to receive the vaccinations. Williamson says anyone aged 50 and over is now eligible to receive a flu shots. Out-of-home caregivers who have frequent contact with such "high-risk" individuals also can get a shot. Despite this year's flu vaccine shortage, Williamson says only three cases of the flu have been confirmed in Alabama. Two were in Huntsville and one was in Birmingham.
