Birmingham, AL – Gasoline prices rose more than seven percent last month. That's typically is one of the slowest driving months of the year. Now, leading experts are predicting prices may surge past last year's record highs when highway travel picks up later this spring. Triple-A Alabama's latest survey of Alabama gas stations shows the average price of regular unleaded is now one dollar and 86 cents a gallon. Similar hikes were recorded for mid-grade and premium fuels. Both average about two-bucks-a-gallon each. Diesel fuel also cost more at two-dollars-a-gallon.
