Birmingham, AL – A HealthSouth executive testified Tuesday she suspected fraud at the company when she saw oddly inflated earnings in the late 1990s. Assistant Vice President of Finance Diana Henze said she noticed a 60 million dollar jump in net income in 1999. She said she also noticed a similar occurrence in 1998. She testified that she notified her supervisor. A few days later she was told that certain things had to be done to make sure people would not lose their jobs. However, her testimony did not directly link former HealthSouth C-E-O Richard Scrushy to the fraud. Henze was not implicated in the scandal.
