Army Helicopter Damaged After Hard Landing

By Alabama Public Radio

Fort Rucker, AL – Three U-S Army pilots -- an instructor and two students -- were injured Tuesday morning when their U-H-60 Blackhawk helicopter experienced what is called a "hard landing." The Army Aviation Center at Fort Rucker has released a statement that says the pilots were on a routine training mission in rural Geneva County between Coffee Springs and Samson. It happened around 8:30 A-M. The Army reports the helicopter was damaged, but the extent of the damage was not yet known. The military also did not specify the nature of the crew members' injuries. They were taken to a local hospital for treatment. The accident is under investigation.
