Senate Approves Education Budget, Pay Raises

Montgomery, AL – The state Senate gave final approval to a six percent pay raise for educators Thursday. Senators also gave final approval to the five-point-two billion dollar education budget. Both will now go to Governor Bob Riley for his signature. However, Riley has expressed his disappointment with both proposals. Senators also passed a proposed four percent state employee raise.
