Mobile, AL – A Mobile soldier was remembered by several hundred people Saturday. Army Specialist Steven Ray Givens was killed in Iraq by insurgents on Mother's Day. The 26-year-old soldier's funeral was Saturday in Mobile. Family members and friends say he was remembered as a man who loved and helped the children of Iraq. They say Givens often asked them to send him Mardi Gras beads and candy for children there. He had volunteered to serve his second tour of duty in the country and was married only three days before he shipped out for that tour. Givens was buried with full military honors.
