Governor Declares "Bo Bice Day"

By Alabama Public Radio

Montgomery, AL – Governor Riley has declared Tuesday Bo Bice day in honor of the American Idol finalist from Helena. The Governor says Bice has represented the state of Alabama well on national television. Riley's spokesperson says the Governor does plan to dial in to vote for Bice Tuesday night, and he issued a proclamation encouraging all Alabamians to do the same. The proclamation also detailed Bice's musical achievements. Bice and fellow finalist Carrie Underwood, of Oklahoma, will perform one last time Tuesday night before the winner is announced Wednesday. Riley made a similar proclamation in support of Birmingham native Ruben Studdard in 2002, when he won the American Idol title.
