Montgomery, AL – A former Montgomery City council member is threatening to sue the city if it does not adequately address his complaint. Terance Dawson says a police officer mistreated him during a November traffic stop. He says the officer harassed, defamed and denied him his constitutional rights. Dawson says he not allowed to use his cell phone or use the restroom. He also says the officer took his license, refused to return it, and accused him of driving under the influence. Dawson says he passed the sobriety test but still was not allowed to drive.
