More Volunteers Search for Missing Alabama Teen

By Alabama Public Radio

Aruba – About 700 people are helping police, soldiers and F-B-I agents search the southeastern tip of Aruba for Hatallee Holloway. The eighteen year old has been missing for a week. The initial call went out to search the entire island. But a police commander says the search had to be scaled down when officials determined that area is just too large. About ten buses drove volunteers to the area to begin the search. Searchers are walking in straight lines with Dutch royal marines. They're searching through scrubland and sand with long wooden sticks. The coast guard has already searched the area by foot, boat and helicopter. Police are planning another large-scale effort tomorrow. Holloway vanished a week ago on a school trip. Two men have been arrested and will go before a judge Tuesday.
