Fort Morgan, AL – Ferry service will resume across the mouth of Mobile Bay Wednesday. The ferry will operate from Dauphin Island to Fort Morgan. The Alabama Department of Transportation took over ferry operations from the Alabama Historical Commission. Last September, Hurricane Ivan destroyed the ferry dock on Fort Morgan's side. The transportation department contracted with a company from Indiana to rebuild and re-pave the dock.
