Birmingham, AL – Jurors did not meet Monday in the fraud trial of former HealthSouth C-E-O Richard Scrushy. And, it wasn't scheduled. Chief deputy clerk Sharon Harris says one member of the jury had an unexpected emergency and couldn't meet Monday, but the nature of the emergency was not discussed. Deliberations are scheduled to resume at 8:30 Tuesday morning. Jurors started deliberating May 19th, but they've only met 16 days since then. They've also missed meeting days because of illness and scheduled vacations. Jurors have indicated they may not be able to reach a verdict on any of the 36 counts against Scrushy.
