Auburn, AL – The Auburn Alumni Association board met Saturday and pledged more than $2.2 million during the next two years for student scholarships. Auburn officials say the money will mainly come from savings in the association's operating costs, from Auburn Clubs and from donations by current and former Alumni Association board members. Auburn interim Vice President for Alumni Affairs Debbie Shaw released a statement, saying interim President Ed Richardson deserves credit for helping with the agreements that led to the pledges for the scholarships. Richardson called it an example of the university community and alumni working together.
