Atlanta, GA – Elected officials from all levels of government in Alabama, Georgia and Tennessee will be in Atlanta Thursday. They'll be there to speak with the Base Realignment and Closure Committee. That group is reviewing the Pentagon's plans to close some military installations and realign others. Alabama and Tennessee did not suffer major losses and will try to prevent some minor cuts. Georgia, however, is scheduled to lose three major bases around Atlanta and a smaller Navy school in Athens. Georgia's delegation will receive two hours for its presentation. Alabama has one hour, and Tennessee will have 30 minutes.
