Scammers Target Business Bureaus

By Alabama Public Radio

Birmingham, AL – The Council of Better Business Bureaus says a new online fraud includes its name and logo. The council says con artists are using the name and log to rip off consumers. Bureaus in eight states have already received complaints from online shoppers. So far, there have been no reports of the scam in Alabama, but Don Boomershine says it's coming. He's president of the Better Business Bureau of Central Alabama and says scam artists are trying to fool online shoppers who are looking for big-ticket items at low prices.
