Montgomery, AL – Governor Bob Riley has called lawmakers back to Montgomery for a special legislative session. It will be held on July 19th, and lawmakers will be charged with approving a General Fund budget. The Legislature ended its regular session in May without passing the budget. It operates non-educational agencies of state government, such as Medicaid, state troopers and prisons. Governor Riley says he's optimistic legislators are ready to get to work and finish their business.
