Auburn Teachers Resign

By Alabama Public Radio

Auburn, AL – Two Auburn Junior High School teachers have resigned amid allegations of inappropriate use of the school's Internet system. Police and the state Department of Education are investigating. Schools Superintendent Terry Jenkins would not release the names of the teachers involved. Jenkins says the school system has very strict restrictions when it comes to Internet use. The system has a computer filtering system that alerts officials when content of a questionable nature is viewed or even if an attempt is made to view inappropriate content. The two teachers were both men and were given the option of resigning or being fired, so Jenkins says they chose to resign.
