Centre, AL – A Cherokee County man has admitted to running a large bookmaking operation and has pleaded guilty to three counts of federal tax evasion. U.S. Attorney Alice Martin says Frog West entered his guilty pleas Wednesday. Martin says the Centre man received hundreds of thousands of dollars in wagers on sporting events each month. No sentencing date has been set. West could receive up to 15 years in prison and a fine of $300,000.
