Alabama Linked to Federal Sex Offender Site

By Alabama Public Radio

Montgomery, AL – The governor's office is reporting the federal Justice Department has now linked Alabama's sex offender registry to the National Sex Offender Public Registry web site. There had been a delay because of computer issues. But Governor Bob Riley says the link has been made, calling it a powerful tool citizens can use to help protect their families. He says residents in Alabama and across the country now will be able access information about sex offenders through a single site on the Internet.
