Rumor Causes Mad Dash for Gas

Muscle Shoals, AL – An apparent rumor Wednesday (8/17) sent motorists in the Shoals area on a rampage. Cars were lining up at gas stations on word that the truckers who deliver gasoline were about to go on strike. There was no truth to that rumor, but area motorists weren't taking any chances. Pat Sanders is chief of Alabama Public Radio's news bureau at the University of North Alabama in Florence. She spoke with APR's Butler Cain about Wednesday's run for gas.

OUTRO: That was Alabama Public Radio's Pat Sanders and Butler Cain talking about Wednesday's rumored gas shortage in the Shoals area.
