Mobile, AL – More than 20 people have been treated at a Mobile hospital for carbon monoxide poisoning from gasoline-powered generators. Those generators have been in heavy use since Hurricane Katrina knocked out power to much of the Gulf area Monday. Among those treated Wednesday at McGill-Toolen High School were Bry Shields, his wife and two of their children. Shields is the President of the High School. They and other victims were also treated in the hyperbaric chamber at Springhill Medical Center. Carbon monoxide is an invisible, odorless and tasteless by- product of the incomplete combustion of gas, oil, wood, coal and other fuels.
