Mobile, AL – Hurricane evacuees from the Mississippi Gulf Coast searched Wednesday for assistance from the American Red Cross in downtown Mobile. The Red Cross, Salvation Army, Federal Emergency Management Agency and other relief agencies are consolidating services beginning Thursday at the Mobile Civic Center. Red Cross officials say the huge number of people seeking help has crowded phone lines.
