By Alabama Public Radio

Mobile, AL – The departure has been postponed after Hurricane Rita shifted eastward. The departure will be delayed until the threat of Rita is passed. It had been rusting away in Greece when World War Two veterans decided to sail it across the Atlantic and restore it in Mobile Evansville sought the vessel because 167 LSTs were made in the city during World War Two.
