WW II Vessel Delayed

Mobile, AL – The departure has been postponed after Hurricane Rita shifted eastward. The departure will be delayed until the threat of Rita is passed. The LST was used in World War Two to land troops and equipment on beaches. The LST-325 in Mobile took part in the D-Day Invasion in France. It had been rusting away in Greece when World War Two veterans decided to sail it across the Atlantic and restore it in Mobile Evansville sought the vessel because 167 LSTs were made in the city during World War Two.
