Montgomery, AL – The order affects 28 inmates on work release and 247 others at community work centers. They've all been convicted of either murder, manslaughter or criminally negligent homicide. Riley was responding to recent events in which three convicted killers escaped from supervised prison work programs. Spokesman Jeff Emerson says the restrictions will stay in place until state prison Commissioner Donal Campbell and his staff conduct a review of the programs.
