Washington, DC – U-S Senator Jeff Sessions is expressing some doubts about the qualifications of Supreme Court nominee Harriet Miers. Sessions told the Associated Press today he would have preferred the president nominate someone similar to recently confirmed Chief Justice John Roberts. He has a judicial record as a former appellate judge. But Miers has never been a judge, and Sessions says he and other conservatives might oppose her nomination if she fails to convince them she's right for the job. But Sessions says he is neither endorsing her nor expressing likely opposition. He says he simply wants more answers. Senator Richard Shelby says he's not endorsing Miers either, just yet.
