Election Day in Birmingham

Birmingham, AL – Tuesday is Election Day in Birmingham. Voters will cast ballots to choose their new City Council and Board of Education. Polls opened at seven o'clock Tuesday morning and close at seven PM. A total of 43 candidates are in the running to fill nine seats on the city council. Seven of them are incumbents and three served on previous councils. All nine school board incumbents are seeking re-election.
