Record Enrollments at UA

By Alabama Public Radio

Tuscaloosa, AL – Enrollment at the University of Alabama is at a record high of 21-thousand 750 this Fall. The entering freshman class number also is a record, reaching 3-thousand 739 students. And, entering transfer students are also at an all time high -- one thousand 406 students. Total enrollment at the university in Tuscaloosa is up about 3 point 7 percent. Since Fall 2002, total enrollment has increased almost 11 percent from just under 20-thousand students to the current mark of almost 22-thousand. More students from Alabama are enrolled at U-A than at any other university in the state. And, 49 of the 50 states are represented in enrollment: the Peace Garden State or Flickertail State or what is sometimes referred as the Roughrider state, that's North Dakota, is not represented in U-A's enrollment.
