Birmingham City Council Runoff Election Results

Birmingham, AL – Former Birmingham 5th District city councilman William Bell defeated incumbent Elias Hendricks in a runoff election Tuesday night. Bell defeated Hendricks by 168 votes. Bell says he'll work to support Mayor Bernard Kincaid, a former rival. Hendricks was the only incumbent to lose in the runoff. Joel Montgomery, Carol Reynolds and Roderick Royal won second terms. Maxine Herring Parker in the 4th District and Steven Hoyt in the 8th District won first terms on the council.
