Riley Asks for Travel Boycott to Aruba

By Alabama Public Radio

Montgomery, AL – Governor Bob Riley isn't pleased with the way Aruba has handled the investigation into a missing Alabama teenager. So, he's asking Alabamians and people across the country to boycott travel to Aruba. He says Americans should avoid traveling to the country until authorities there cooperate more fully with the family of Natalee Holloway. She's the Mountain Brook teenager who has been missing in Aruba since May. The governor made the announcement Tuesday morning at the state capitol building. Beth Holloway-Twitty, Natalee's mother, joined the governor. She says she believes Aruban authorities have failed to adequately investigate her daughter's case.
