Aruba – There's an update on the governor's announcement Tuesday to boycott travel to Aruba. Riley said the country is not properly handling the investigation of Natalee Holloway, an Alabama teen who has been missing there since May. As one might expect, the announcement incensed Aruba's government. It has filed a complaint with the State Department about Riley's call for a boycott. The country's prime minister expressed sympathy for Holloway's family but also says the State Department should prevent a boycott that could damage Aruba's tourist industry. He called Riley's request "a preposterous and irresponsible act," saying Arubans don't pose a threat to the United States or to Alabama. He says the entire island doesn't deserve to be punished because there have been no arrests in the high-profile case.
