Riley's Legislative Director to Resign

By Alabama Public Radio

Montgomery, AL – Stone's resignation is effective Friday and means Riley must hire the administration's fourth top lobbyist in three years. Riley's communications director, Jeff Emerson, says the governor's already screening possible replacements and plans to hire a new legislative director before the 2006 regular session begins in January. Legislative leaders and staff members praised Stone for his ability to work with lawmakers. Stone is a former Boeing Corporation lobbyist.
