Montgomery, AL – But Baxley says the Legislature should be cautious about Riley's plan to spend 500 million dollars on school and college construction projects. She says the state education budget has had problems four out of the last five years and the state must not overspend when the budget is flush. Democratic state Senator Tommy Ed Roberts says he's been in the Legislature 20 years and Riley is the first governor he's seen propose a tax cut. House Minority Leader Mike Hubbard says he supports Riley's tax cut and school spending plan, but he says passing them won't be easy in a Democrat-controlled Legislature.
