Aircraft Facility Debuts in Mobile

By Alabama Public Radio

Mobile, AL – Ground will be broken today on an E-A-D-S engineering center in Mobile. It's the European parent company of Airbus, and the Airbus Engineering Center will employ about 150 aerospace engineers. They'll be designing commercial Airbus planes. And, there's potential for more growth. The center eventually could include an airplane assembly plant. That will happen if Northrop Grumman Corporation and E-A-D-S North America win a contract to build aerial refueling tankers for the Air Force.
