White Plains, AL – A church in Calhoun County was damaged by fire overnight, but authorities say they doubt it's connected to the other church arsons. The church is in White Plains, and fire chief Bill Hutto says the church was abandoned. He says last night's blaze at the old White Plains Church of God does not appear to fit the profile of the recent arsons in west Alabama. Hutto says all of those churches were Baptist denominations, and they were not abandoned. Arsonists have burned 10 churches in five counties since February third.
