Seoul, South Korea – There are more developments in the recent bribery scandal affecting the Hyundai Motor company. Prosecutors in South Korea now say they have banned the president of Kia Motors from leaving the country. Kia is an affiliate of Hyundai and just recently announced plans to build a plant in western Georgia, not far from the Alabama state line. The company is at the center of a widening investigation into accusations that Hyundai created slush funds to bribe government officials. The president of Kia Motors is the son of Hyundai Motor chairman Chung Mong-koo. Mong-koo left Korea Sunday and is expected to visit Hyundai's manufacturing plant in Montgomery while on his trip.
