Montgomery, AL – The Alabama Supreme Court has lifted the delay on a payment due to HealthSouth's shareholders. They're waiting to collect nearly 48 million dollars in bonuses from former C-E-O Richard Scrushy. The Jefferson County Circuit Court ordered Scrushy to repay the bonuses he earned from 1996 to 2002. HealthSouth went through a two-point-seven billion dollar accounting fraud during that time. However, Scrushy could still post bond to put the payment on hold. Shareholder attorney John Sommerville and HealthSouth spokesman Andy Brimmer have not spoken publicly on the ruling.
