Authorities Arrest Hyundai's Chairman

Seoul, South Korea – Prosecutors in South Korea have arrested Hyundai Motor Company Chairman Chung Mong-koo. He's being questioned in an embezzlement and slush fund scandal. Chung's arrest was announced today. Prosecutors suspect Chung of embezzling company funds to create a slush fund to pay for government favors. Hyundai opened a U-S factory Montgomery last year, and Kia plans to build its first U-S factory in Georgia, just across the Alabama state line. Hyundai is the parent company of Kia.
