More Testimony in Corruption Trial

By Alabama Public Radio

Montgomery, AL – Nick Bailey testified yesterday that former Governor Don Siegelman helped a lobbyist and landfill developer get state business in return for money and gifts. Bailey is a former Siegelman aide who testified as a prosecution witness. His testimony came on the second day of the government corruption trial against Siegelman, former HealthSouth C-E-O Richard Scrushy and two others. Earlier in the day, Alva Lambert took the stand. He's the executive director of the Certificate of Need board. He said his agency was not pressured by Scrushy or Siegelman when it approved two HealthSouth projects.
