Moore Picks Up UMW Endorsement

By Alabama Public Radio

Montgomery, AL – Republican gubernatorial candidate Roy Moore picked up an endorsement from the United Mine Workers of America Tuesday. The union's district vice president, Daryl Dewberry, says his union believes Moore is committed to mine safety and committed to helping the working people of Alabama. Meanwhile, Democratic gubernatorial candidate Lucy Baxley says she would be more friendly toward small entrepreneurs as governor. The lieutenant governor says if elected, she would create a Cabinet-level position for small business development. She says she would promote tax credits to help small businesses provide health insurance for their employees.
