Montgomery AL – More low-income families in Alabama will be eligible for assistance paying for day care. The state Department of Human Resources is adding two-thousand children to a state program that provides day care subsidies. That program already covers about 28-thousand children a month. D-H-R Commissioner Page Walley says children will be selected based on how long they've been on the waiting list. It's the second time this year that two-thousand children have been added, as DHR officials try to keep their parents in jobs and off welfare. Families of children added to the rolls will be contacted.
